Baseball Season Coming to an end

2 Apr 2020 by Ben Sutter

With the announcement from Governor Kemp and the follow up today from the GHSA the spring sports season has come to an end. I want to thank our players for all the hard work that they have put in and the patience they have shown through such an irregular season. We really couldn’t catch any breaks and the Covid situation just caps everything off. I want to thank the families of our athletes, you have shown tremendous patience and an abundance of support for our program and our school. This decision has been a gut punch and I hate it for both the players and then families.

In moving forward, a lot of decisions will have to wait for county guidance and word before we can begin. The campus is still closed and unavailable for our kids to come up there and spend some time collecting items from lockers as well as turning in supplies. I am working with Dr. Shaw on how we can implement a collection/drop off plan but with the Shelter in Place directive this will not happen until after Spring Break.

This is nowhere near the type of season we had planned. I’m sad that you all were not able to see us playing at our peak baseball level. I will be reaching out as well as Bob Decan once we have more information about moving forward. In the meantime, stay safe, stay supportive and we will get some things figured out soon.

Thanks,

Coach Sutter
