Roswell Baseball Family

First off, I want to thank everyone for their support and flexibility throughout this season, which has been the strangest of seasons in history. For most of us, this started last fall with conditioning, worked its way into four on one fundamentals, long toss programs, and then tryouts started on January 12th. Its sad that the season had to end the way it did but I, as a coach couldn’t ask for a better response from a collection of parents, community, and athletes and I truly appreciate you. This completed my 16th year as a baseball coach at Roswell high school, and like our current seniors, this was may last season as baseball coach here. I knew taking over as Athletic Director that it could lead to the possibility of me having to give up coaching the sport that has been a part of my life since I was born, and coaching for a school that I value and accepted me as one of the family. I wanted to give it a shot and I told myself if I felt that I could not do this job the way it is supposed to be done, for the betterment of the kids, then I would have to take a step back and bring someone in who can dedicate the time that they need. This season was a balancing act, trying to give the time to the players that they need as well as put the quality product of Roswell Baseball that everyone knows we have out on the field and still be able to get to the other sports and give them the time that they deserve as well. This was a struggle, late nights and early mornings started to make me feel like I was doing a decent job at both, but I’m too competitive and care too much and the kids deserve more than that. I am not saying goodbye to Roswell, as Athletic Director I get to be part of the much bigger picture but know that my heart is always with this baseball team. You will see me around the backstop getting a burger cheering our guys on and enjoying the soothing voice of Toney up in the press box. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have given to me and my family. I thank the coaching staff that has helped me through all of this and that have dedicated their time to ensure that Roswell Baseball is being done the right way. Thank you to the Booster Club, who’s members do so much for our team that most do not even realize. Most importantly, thank you to the Roswell Baseball Family, you are amazing and I am humbled for you allowing me to be a part of it!
Thank you,
Coach Sutter
